The family of Hollywood composer Russ Garcia and his wife, lyricist Gina Garcia, are coming together to produce a musical that honors the life of Tahirih, one of the heroines of the Baha’i Faith. Listen as Kristy Corwin tells about this inspirational story and her grandparents’ role in creating the eloquent music that conveys the passion behind it.

Editor’s Note: Stories of Tahirih are timely as Baha’is around the world are preparing for the October 2019 celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Birth of the Bab, the Herald of the Baha’i Faith. In 19th century Persia, the Bab called for spiritual and moral reform.  The Bab’s earliest 18 followers are called the “Letters of the Living.” Tahirih is the 17th and the only woman among them.
